Save Arizona White Mountains is a grassroots coalition of ranching families, credentialed professionals, and local advocates defending Apache County from reckless industrial energy sprawl.
Industrial wind development in a fire-risk mountain corridor isn't a clean energy win. It is a fundamental misallocation of resources that threatens our safety, our aquifers, and the financial stability of Apache County.
Save Arizona White Mountains (SAWM) was newly formed in response to the imminent threats posed by the Lava Run and Black Ridge projects. We recognized early on that simply expressing frustration at public hearings was not enough to stop multinational developers backed by private equity.
Our mission is to out-organize the developers by building an undeniable formal public record that makes permit denial the only legally sound choice for our local officials.
We do not rely on volume. We rely on technical precision, unassailable data, and organized community deployment.
County Supervisors and the ACC must base their decisions on the formal record. Every action we take—from written comments to expert testimony—is designed to systematically dismantle the developers' applications within that legal framework.
Where developers supply glossy consultant reports, we supply independent fiscal depreciation analysis. We actively engage hydrogeologists and fire operations experts to formally document the risks of aquifer disruption and aerial firefighting dead zones.
Fighting multinational developers requires resources. Expert testimony, legal review, and public outreach all demand funding. Our Guardian Honor Roll recognizes the families, local businesses, and individuals who have provided foundational support to Save Arizona White Mountains.
We are deeply grateful for your commitment to protecting Apache County.
Your contribution directly funds credentialed expert testimony and the legal structure needed to defeat these CUP applications.
